Available Courses


  • Madison Area Technical College General Chemistry Course. This course covers the fundamentals of chemistry. Topics include: the metric system; problem solving; periodic relationships; chemical reactions; chemical equilibrium; acids bases and salts; and gas laws. Prerequisite: Elementary Algebra w/Apps, 10804110 with a C or better or Math Compass score of 40+ on Algebra.

  • You can find a plan to run a workshop on the ChemEd DL for people who are interested in learning more about the resources available.
  • This course is designed to be a place where the authors of the BCCE ChemEd DL workshop can share ideas and develop the workshop.
  • This is a place to more thoroughly explore the ChemEd DL through collected resources or learning packages. Each lesson is organized by topic with a collection of resources, some free and some subscription based, to help you and your students learn about that particular topic. Explore all the lessons or pick and choose based on your need.

    Chemical Principles by Integrated Multiple Exemplars:  Learning chemistry through its applications in fields that interest you.

  • This course will teach you about the basics about Digital Libraries and how to use them. It will focus specifically on the new Chemical Education Digital Library. Ideally you will use what you learn in this course to run your own workshop teaching others about the Chemical Education Digital Library.
  • The interrelationship between plants and animals and their physical and biotic environment. Physiological and behavioral adaptations, populations, biotic communities, ecosystems. Problem based learning included. Laboratory, off campus field work and computer applications for data acquisition and statistical analysis are included. This is considered a capstone course.

  • This course will cover basic chemistry covered in a high school Pre-AP Chemistry course.  The difference will be that it will be all online and will use the resources available from the ChemEd DL.
